American Identity, North, South, Center [NSC] e pluribus unum or "mass media" identity?

Do we overcompensate or even "steal" or "borrow" on another's notoriety like a mooch?

Case Example: A Houston Texans Cheerleader was shocked when her "Speaker" told her a third party had opened a twitter account with her name and images.
