I remember the class discussion of the Edmund Burke poem of 1830. It was about the end of the Romantic Period, the romantic tides’ “ebb” real and won’t be coming back anytime soon (if ever, Professor Levin [U.C. Davis, 1977] believed).  Yes, Reaganomics was just around the corner.
